Kathlyn Brenneman

Kathlyn is a Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula, mother of five, and passionate advocate for informed, empowered birth. Her journey into birth work began with her own varied birth experiences and a growing desire to support women as they navigate the transformative season of pregnancy and childbirth.
 
As a doula, Kathlyn brings a grounded, compassionate presence to the birth space. She has supported families through a wide range of birth experiences, including home births and hospital, medicated and unmedicated, induction, VBAC, cesarean birth, and the many unexpected turns that can arise along the way. She helps families feel heard, safe, and supported, offering emotional reassurance, physical comfort measures, and informed information while honoring each family’s individual choices and instincts.

Kathlyn values both the evidence-based side of birth and the intuitive, grounded, relational side of care. She believes birth deserves to be approached with presence, steadiness, and deep respect, and that families deserve support that meets them where they are, whatever their birth story may look like.

Before stepping into birth work, Kathlyn spent over a decade working as a nationally certified American Sign Language interpreter. That experience shaped so much of how she communicates and supports others: quiet observation, deep listening, respect for language and culture, and knowing when to speak and when to stay silent. She warmly welcomes Deaf and signing families.

Outside of birth work, Kathlyn enjoys gardening, homeschooling, herbal crafting, and exploring the outdoors with her family.
