What You’ll Receive From This Unique, In-Person Birth Preparation Class
What to Expect:
Whether a first-time or fifth-time mom, and whether having a natural birth, home birth, or c-section, this 2-part evidence-based birth education class will help you and your partner be more prepared, present, and empowered during your birthing journey. You will also have a better understanding of commonly used interventions.
Session 1
The Rhythm and Wisdom of Birth
• Understand how your body is naturally designed to grow, nourish, and birth your baby, while building deeper trust in your instincts throughout pregnancy and labor.
• Develop a birthing mindset and sense of awareness that can help reduce fear, ease anxiety, and create a calmer, more grounded labor experience.
•Learn how to recognize and respond to your body’s cues with gentleness, resilience, confidence, and supportive coping techniques during labor and birth.
•Build confidence in the natural rhythm of labor by learning how to surrender to the process instead of feeling pressure to control every moment.
Session 2
Comfort Measures and Honoring Your Voice in Birth
• Through guided reflection and visualization, begin to shape a clear vision of the kind of birth you want – emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
• Learn how to create a calm, supportive birth environment through lighting, sound, comfort measures, movement, and emotional support that encourages relaxation during labor.
• Know your options during the birthing process – understand informed consent and when and how to speak up.
• Use breathing, positioning, massage, nervous system regulation, swaying, or vocalizing in harmony with contractions to reduce pain and fear.
During each session, Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula and Childbirth Educator, Sara Vidal provides professional, heart-centered guidance, hands-on techniques, and supportive practices so you both can feel more comfortable and calm during labor. Sara has certifications through Childbirth International, HypnoActive Birth and the VBAC Link.
