Aliyah Brown

Birth & Postpartum Doula + CNA

My name is Aliyah and I am a full time and dedicated doula/caregiver. I started my career in caregiving in January of 2019, working with geriatric patients in a catholic nursing home. During this time, I developed invaluable skills such as grit, teamwork, compassion, and patience. I’ve always loved babies, and my heart for caring for others led me to pursue doula/ birth work.

I immersed myself  in research about doulas and became certified in 2021, though initially I faced challenges due to a lack of professional experience. Determined to gain the necessary experience, I worked as a patient care technician at a hospital for NICU graduates and babies in rehabilitation. There, I performed skilled tasks such as hands on care for babies on feeding tubes and/ or oxygen, taking their vitals, observing babies with drug withdrawal, and providing education under the guidance of nurses. This experience expanded my knowledge and solidified my commitment to my career as a doula.

Despite not having children of my  own, I feel a responsibility and passion for serving families. I find reward in helping to nurture and teach others. My approach is rooted in patience, love, and sympathy (and routine). I live by the motto of going above and beyond, which I apply both in my professional and personal life.

I would love to one day have my own family but in the meantime, I will continue to serve families and their precious babies. This career path is a gift to me from God Himself. I have served many, many families and I am hoping to continue doing so.
